With its AIRFIELD Communication, Navigation & Surveillance Solutions Team our client provides advanced technologies which allow safe operations during ground movements of aircrafts. We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and passionate Manager for the Airfield Surveillance Team. This role has many responsibilities with a high a degree of exposure to all levels in the company. Your main responsibilities (acted on yourself or via delegation): 

  • Manage the Airfield Surveillance Team.
  • Manage the new MLAT developments throughout all its phases: system requirements definition, system development, test, verification and validation.
  • Plan and set attainable goals to team members and provide guidance in order to deliver projects on time.
  • Evaluate technical solutions and system performance
  • Lead the decision-making process associated with the design of the new systems’ processing and functions. Ensure appropriate procedures and processes are followed.
  • Provide comprehensive guidance on the development strategy and modifications to airfield surveillance solutions. Accountable of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security)
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities
  • Deliver reports and proposals to upper management
  • Define together with the Product Manager system roadmaps, integration plans, prepare needed budget and timelines for the systems’ development (Containing HW and SW)
  • Manage the prototype system testing and validation
  • Guarantee that all system documentation is in accordance with company quality standards
  • Certify the systems against CE requirements and international ICAO and Eurocae standards.

 

Requirements

The Manager Airfield Surveillance has a solid background in ATC Surveillance, GNSS and communication systems, and proven experience in managing a team composed of a variety of different profiles. 

  • Proven Team Leadership and Guidance of SW developers
  • Extensive experience in developing, deploying, and integrating software solutions
  • Multi-language, international & intercultural experience
  • Advanced English language proficiency. Additional languages are an asset.
  • In depth knowledge of MLAT/WAM, ADS-B, A-SMGCS, Surveillance systems
  • Experience in ATC tracking systems and Kalman filtering
  • Practical and good understanding of System Integration & interfacing.
  • Knowledge of best practices related to data encryption and cybersecurity
  • Familiar with all regulatory standards related to surveillance system i.e. Eurocontrol, RTCA, Eurocae
  • Strong computer science fundamentals in SW development, data structure, algorithms
  • Strong proficiency in System Solution Design
  • Knowledge of MATLAB
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux , Windows, MS office package + Visio , MS project
  • Knowledge of communication/radio frequency /data link technologies.
  • Understanding of complex system of systems setups.
  • User knowledge of network communication / infrastructure
  • Understanding of software development processes
